Karel Wagner

Karel “Sysel” Wagner has been a member of the Czech Army Active Reserves since 2011 and currently serves as a squad leader with the 41st Mechanized Battalion in Žatec. In 2018, as a senior rifleman, he completed the shooting instructor course and has since served in his company as a firearms training instructor for the Czech Army. Since 2020 he has also been working as a shooting instructor with B-rdy. In addition, he has been a certified Combat Lifesaver (CLS) within his unit since 2017.

In his free time, he focuses on tactical and defensive shooting and regularly takes part in both domestic and international competitions. Among his achievements are victories in the B-rdy Military Cup shooting-tactical competition in 2018 and 2019, and second place at the N-MISSION competition in 2020.

Karel is a three-time Czech national champion in defensive shooting competitions (2018, 2019, 2020). In 2019, he became world champion at the IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) World Championship in Alabama, USA. Since 2017 he has also served as a LOS (People’s Defensive Shooting) referee, and since 2020 as an international IDPA referee.
