1.4.0. B-rdy Survival Basics Course

Our course is for anyone who wants to learn the practical basics of survival – from outdoor enthusiasts to those interested in military training to those who simply want to feel more confident in unfamiliar conditions. After completing the course, you will be confident that you can handle basic survival situations and be ready to move on to the more advanced modules of the S.E.R.E. program.

We will prepare you to know the Survival priorities called “Survival Pyramid”:

  • Safety/shelter (protection from the weather, environment).
  • Water (sources, filtration, improvised treatment).
  • Fire (starting, maintaining, safety).
  • Food (priority later, basics of orientation in edible sources).
  • Signaling and orientation (how to make yourself known, basic navigation, signals).
  • Survival psychology and working with stress.

We will teach you:

  • how to build an improvised shelter and spend the night in the field,
  • where and how to safely obtain water,
  • how to start and maintain a fire,
  • how to navigate using a map and natural signs,
  • how to make a signal in a case of emergency
  • how to deal with stress and maintain mental resilience,
  • basic emergency first aid and rescue signaling.Official certificate of the armorer for AR-15 platform.
GEAR & EQUIPMENT

You will survive with a minimal equipment. You will get the list of equipment after the registration. Actually the course will have more phases and you will know how to work with a minimum stuff.

PAYMENT

Registration is mandatory. When you register for a course, you will receive a confirmation email and we will send you an invoice approximately 1 week before the event.

1. Introduction and course objectives – Introduction to the S.E.R.E. philosophy – how armed forces view survival and how the principles are adapted to the civilian environment. The difference between a recreational stay in nature and a real survival situation. Course safety rules (knives, fire, water, group discipline).

2. Survival priorities (the “Survival Pyramid”)

3. Fire

  • Fire-starting techniques (flint, matches, improvisation).
  • How to prepare kindling, tinder, and a fire pit structure.
  • Maintaining a fire and its uses (heat, cooking, signaling).
  • Safety principles and minimizing your footprint in nature.

4. Water

  • The 3-day rule – why water is critical.
  • How to find water in the Czech countryside.
  • Basic methods of water treatment: boiling, filtration aids, improvised filters.
  • Risks (bacteria, parasites, chemical contamination).

5. Shelter and sleeping

  • Quick improvised shelters (tarpaulin, poncho, natural materials).
  • Basics of thermoregulation – prevention of hypothermia and overheating.
  • Sleeping in emergency conditions, use of improvised insulation layers.

6. Food

  • Psychological vs. actual need for food.
  • What can be safely gathered in the Czech countryside (only basic and easily recognizable sources).
  • Risks of unknown plants and mushrooms.
  • Principles of working with caught/found food – minimum hygiene requirements.
  1. Orientation and movement
  • Basics of orientation without GPS – sun, stars, natural indicators.
  • Use of maps and compasses (practical exercises).
  • Improvised signaling (smoke, reflection, sound).
  • Movement in unfamiliar terrain – group safety, conserving energy.
  1. Survival psychology
  • Stress, panic, and tunnel vision – how to deal with them.
  • Working in a group vs. working alone.
  • Mental strategies (setting goals, micro-steps).
  1. First aid in survival
  • Basic treatment of minor injuries and infection prevention.
  • Improvised stretcher and transport.
  • Signals for calling for help (visual, audible, international SOS).

Reflection: what went well, what was difficult, what can be improved.
