1.1.4. B-rdy Long Range Shooting Basics Course

The two-day introductory course to long-range shooting is intended for students who want to learn the limits of their weapon systems and their ability to hit targets at distances of hundreds of meters.

The knowledge students learn in the B-rdy Long Range Shooting Basics course can be used for both dynamic shooting and developing precision shooting and sniping skills. The goal of the course is to push the student to hit a target at distance of his weapon system limit.

The B-rdy Long Range Shooting Basics course methodology is based on military long-range shooting training in a Special Forces environment, combined with a police approach to the precision work of a sniper, and in the spirit of the B-rdy Performance approach, with ever-increasing demands on the skills of leading competitors in disciplines such as F-class, PRS, and Bench-rest. The course does not cover sniper activities in a real environment, but rather the precise mastery of weapons, ammunition, and equipment for shooting at distances from 100 to 500 meters.

The course covers the evaluation of equipment for long-range shooting, zeroing and equipment preparation, especially the adjustment of the weapon system – rifle, silencer, mounts, optics, ammunition, and support equipment, basic information on ballistics, and an introduction to basic calculations and the use of a reticle. Students then create their own ballistic charts for their weapon system and continue to work on developing their shooting skills with an emphasis on the modern sniper’s work, shooting from various distances and positions at different targets with gradually increasing difficulty.

Mandatory equipment:

• A bolt-action or semi-automatic rifle (large caliber) equipped with a bipod (we also highly recommend to equip your rifle with a suppressor/silencer) equipped with quality optical scope with a reticle allowing horizontal and vertical clicking and ideally parallax adjustments
• Notepad and pen (all weather working)
• Permanent marker
• Ductape
• Sniper-pad or mat
• Mobile phone with calculator
• Eyes protection (ballistic glasses)
• Hearing protection (we recommend active hearing protection)
• Appropriate all-weather clothing and footwear
• at least 1 magazine
• at least 150 rounds
• Gun licence and ID
• A sling

Bring an UNLOADED RIFLE in a suitable concealed carry bag and sling, at least 1 spare magazine. Do not forget a protective gear (ballistic glasses and ears protection), at least 150 rounds of ammunition in your caliber, firearms license and gun ID. Bring your weapon to the shooting range in UNLOADED CONDITION! Choose appropriate clothing and footwear, and plenty of fluids are recommended.

The course is perfectly suited to shooters with a gun licence and own equipment. We are also able to create an individual terms for foreign students or young shooters.
